Departure

I leave the States for South Africa in a few hours. I fly from Boston to JFK to meet up with my group. From JFK, I fly to London where I have a ten hour layover (going to try to see the British Museum). From London, I board the plane yet again for 11 more hours of travel to Johannesburg, South Africa. So long winter, hello summer. Africa here I come.

Pre-trip Angst, 48 more hours in the U.S.

Passport, check. Money, check. Clothing, check. Power Adaptor, check... Just a few days until I leave. Trying to check off everything on the list. Jo'burg here I come. Giant's Castle for New Years.

- Castle Hill Country lodge, Nelspruit (staying for traditional Chungolo dances)

- Swadini resort (Shangaan Chungolo dance competition)

- Kruger National Park (Skukuza camp)

- University of the Witwatersrand.

- De Wildt endangered species centre
- Sterkfontein and Maropeng Australopithecine fossil sites
